Skincare regimens change for the fall-winter season.
Autumn is like a stroppy teenager, with gusty winds and central heat. It also means that you are eating more healthy foods. Your skin probably took some damage during the summer and now is the moment to gently ease in to the new season with some simple tweaks to your skincare regime.
Exfoliate
Don’t try to keep the last traces of a bronzed look. A flaky, peeling tan won’t look as attractive as a smooth and even complexion. There are two kinds of tan that will help you achieve the desired result chemical (based on glycolic acid and lactic acids that help break the bonds that hold dirt onto the skin) and physical. These make use of friction to move dirt around.
It is easy to forget to exfoliate this part of your routine and then repeat it when you choose to take the time. As with everything else it is best to exfoliate at least once per week. Exfoliation with physical means can be done frequently, as often as twice per week. You should be gentle and not scrub too hard as you could strip your skin’s natural defenses. Small scratches can lead to irritation and redness.
Moisturise
When the radiators turn back on, our indoor areas become super arid and 脫毛 this is what triggers the majority of skin issues during the winter and autumn months – much more than the rainy weather. A good moisturiser can make your skin feel more smooth, plumper, and prevent the loss of any moisture. Try adding a serum underneath a moisturiser to give your skin an immediate boost. Also, include a night cream in your routine to provide your skin with extra nourishment for the night. Where possible, try to select moisturising products that are from the same category as they’ll contain similar ingredients, so you can be sure that they work well together.
It is a false assumption that a deep moisturising cream will cause spots: if you have breakouts it is more likely that the ingredients don’t fit your skin. You’ll be able find the perfect winter-fall moisturizing cream next spring.
Complexion Correction
Tinted moisturiser, a complexion enhancer and foundation. Who can not live without them during winter/fall? Make sure to select a colour that is appropriate to less sun-kissed skin, to avoid the typical watermark appearance. There are many great foundations on the market. However, it’s difficult to locate a foundation that achieves the right balance between moisturization and staying put. It’s just a matter compromise and deciding what matters more to you.
SPF
Make sure that the products you purchase are sun-safe. UVA rays can still penetrate through glasses and 脫毛 clouds, and are the nasties that cause cells to transform and eventually develop cancer. The protection must be applied in a moisturiser or primer to ensure that it covers all skin areas. (Foundation is best applied to areas that need evening out, which is why it’s not as efficient for SPFs.)
Lips
The lips’ thin skin can feel seriously exposed at this time of year , and it needs its own attention. It’s okay to exfoliate your lips, but don’t do frequently and choose lip products that moisturise with SPF and are as natural as possible. It is estimated that women consume around 4-7lbs worth of lip products over their lifetime – so whenever possible, cut down on the amount of chemicals in your products.
With just a few steps it’s easy to get beautiful skin this fall/winter without feeling as though you must hibernate until spring is back with us.
